Terms & Conditions


  1. Definition and Law
    This Contract is an agreement for the rental of items and accessories (the “Equipment”) and the sale of goods (the “Goods”) detailed overleaf and will be governed by The Laws of Trinidad & Tobago. The parties to the Contract are:
    1. The renter stated overleaf (the “Renter”)
    2. The Power Outlet Limited (the “Supplier”)
    3. Where the Renter is not an individual acting in person, the person whose signature appears overleaf (the “Signatory”)

    No variation or addition to this Contract shall be effective. If any condition is held to be invalid the other will not be affected. A decision not to enforce any condition will not constitute a waiver of the Supplier’s rights.

  2. Extent of Contract and non-assignability
    The Contract will be effective when the Renter places a detailed order and the Supplier has accepted it. The Contract is not assignable.
  3. Maximum period of rent
    If the Renter is an individual, partnership or an unincorporated body, the contract will at latest terminate upon the expiry of three months from the date of commencement.
  4. Termination of Contract
    If the Renter is in breach of the Contract or is involved in insolvency or liquidation proceedings, the Supplier may terminate the Contract and repossess the Equipment without affecting any rights to recover monies due, including damages for breach of the Contract or any other remedies.
  5. Ownership of Equipment and Goods
    Equipment remains at all times the property of the Supplier; Goods remain so until receipt of payment in full.


  1. Basis of Charging
    Charges and commencement dates are as stated overleaf and charges include Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, until the Equipment is returned.
  2. Transport
    Delivery or collection (including attempted calls) will be charges at the supplier’s current rates. Quoted charges apply during normal business hours and include 15 minutes attendance at the specified address. Extended waiting items may be charged for.
  3. Time for payment and VAT
    The Renter will pay all monies due, including VAT, on demand. Interest on amounts overdue is 2% per month. The Renter will be liable for any reasonable legal charges incurred by the Supplier in the Recovery of amounts due, Equipment and/or Goods.
  4. Deposits
    Deposits are set at amounts reasonably required, being not normally less than twice the estimated rent charge and may be used to set against any monies due. Balances are refunded to the Renter of Signatory upon return of Equipment in good condition. For non-cash deposits, a cheque will be issued within seven business days.
  5. Credit Card Transactions
    If the Renter pays by Credit Card, signing a blank voucher, he irrevocably authorises the Supplier to insert and present the final amount due to the credit card company for settlement.
  6. Cancellation Charge
    20% of the rent charges for the unconsumed rent period will be due in the event of early cancellation.
  7. Failure to allow inspection of Equipment
    If after reasonable notice the Renter fails to make rented Equipment available for inspection, the Supplier may treat it as having been lost and levy a penalty charges against the Rental equal to the full replacement cost.
  8. Damage Waiver Optioni
    If the Renter agrees to pay the 12% damage waiver charge, the Supplier will waive any charge for rectifying accidentally damaged Equipment.


  1. Resharpening, damage or loss costs
    The Renter will pay for resharpening, rectification, cleaning, or Equipment Loss. The cost of damage repair will also be payable by the Renter if the damage waiver option has not been chosen. Severe damage or Equipment loss will result in charging full replacement costs. Rent charges will accrue until settlement is made.
  2. Delivery inspection and receipt of Equipment and Goods
    The Renter/Signatory will examine the equipment and/or Goods at physical hand-over to ensure satisfaction and sign in confirmation. For delivered items, any shortage or damage must be noted on the delivery note.
  3. Return of Equipment
    Equipment may be returned during normal business hours to any Power Outlet Rental Store or arrangements made for collection. The supplier will issue a return note for any Equipment returned, without which the Renter will remain liable for on-going rent charges.
  4. Security of Equipment
    The Renter assumes responsibility for the Equipment and undertakes not to sell, re-rent or part with possession, alter, repair or modify it in any way. The renter is responsible for the loading/unloading of Equipment and Goods and assistance given by the Supplier is at the Renter’s risk.
  5. Loss or stolen Equipment
    The Renter agrees to pay the supplier the rental charges and all incidentals up until the replacement unit is paid for in full. The Renter agrees to insure the Equipment against all risks on a “new for old” basis with any claim settlement receipts from an insurance company or other source being held in trust for payment on demand. This liability is without prejudice to any Supplier rights under the Contract. Equipment purchased to replace lost or stolen items is the property of the Supplier.
  6. Maintenance of Equipment and breakdown procedures
    The signatory warrants that he is authorized by the Renter to enter into the Contract and indemnifies the Supplier against all losses and costs incurred if such authority is misrepresented.


  1. Acknowledgment of safety instructions and safe use
    The Renter/Signatory acknowledges receipt of appropriate instruction on the safe and proper operation of the Equipment and undertakes that it will only be used by persons instructed in its use in accordance with that instruction. The Renter indemnifies the Supplier against any expense, liability, loss, claim or proceedings for any personal injury and damage to or loss of any property arising from or in connection with the contract. Subject to the above, the Supplier will be liable for negligence in the performance of its obligations under the Contract.
  2. Electrical equipment
    The Renter will be responsible for ensuring the electricity supply with equipment is suitable and that it is correctly earthed, or double insulated where appropriate.


  1. Supply of Equipment and Goods and limitation of liability
    Liability of claims made by the Renter will not exceed the period rent charges or the price of Goods – whichever is less – and does not extend to any consequential or financial loss liability, breakdown, stoppage or lawful repossession. The Supplier may substitute items of similar quality, specification or performance when necessary.
  2. Delivery and Collection
    The Supplier will endeavour to deliver or collect during business day following that on which the request is received and the Renter or his representative must be present when delivery or collection occurs.
  3. Returned Goods
    Where the Renter returns Goods sold for use with the Equipment in unused condition, the Supplier will arrange an appropriate credit.
